Privacy Policy
Last updated: 4 November 2026
This policy explains what information the Wheel of Verses app ("the app") uses, why, and the choices you have. The app is made by The Wheel Of Verses Team ("we", "us"), based in Singapore. Questions: [email protected].
1. Information kept only on your phone
Your coins, puzzle progress, streaks, statistics, settings, reminder time and the player names you type for 1v1 matches are saved on your device. We cannot see them. They are deleted when you use Settings → Reset progress or uninstall the app.
Daily reminders are local notifications created by the app on your phone. No notification server is involved.
2. Leaderboard account (optional)
If you tap Continue with Google (Android) or Sign in with Apple (iOS) to join the leaderboard, we receive and store:
| Information | Why | Who can see it |
|---|---|---|
| An account ID and the email address shared by Google or Apple (with Apple, this may be a private relay address) | To sign you in and recover your account on a new phone | Only us |
| The display name you choose | To show your place on the leaderboard | Everyone using the leaderboard |
| Your solo Wheel of Verses scores, with the date and time they were sent | Weekly and all-time leaderboards, and to limit abuse | Score totals: everyone using the leaderboard |
We do not receive your Google or Apple password, contacts, photos or location. Scores from Daily, 4 Pictures 1 Word and 1v1 matches are never sent.
3. Advertising
The free version of the app shows ads using Google AdMob. Google may collect and use information such as your device's advertising ID, IP address, device type and how you interact with ads, to deliver ads, measure them and prevent fraud. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
Because the app is designed for all ages, we ask Google to treat ad requests as child-directed and to show only general-audience (G-rated) ads. Under these settings Google does not show personalised ads.
In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, the app asks for your consent using Google's consent form before ads are loaded. You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Privacy options.
If you buy Remove Ads, the payment is handled by Google Play or the App Store. We do not receive your card or payment details; we only learn whether the purchase is active.
4. Daily Verse updates
The app occasionally downloads new daily verses from this website. Like any website, our host (GitHub Pages) may record technical information such as your IP address in its server logs. These downloads contain no account information.
5. Service providers
- Supabase: stores leaderboard accounts and scores. Privacy policy
- Google: AdMob ads and Google sign-in. Privacy policy
- Apple: Sign in with Apple on iOS. Privacy policy
- GitHub: hosts this website and the daily verse files. Privacy statement
These providers may process information outside your country, including in the United States.
6. How long we keep information
We keep your leaderboard account until you delete it. Weekly leaderboards are reset every Monday, but past weekly scores remain linked to your account until it is deleted.
7. Deleting your account
In the app, open Profile and tap Delete my Wheel of Verses account. This immediately removes your display name, scores and sign-in record from our server. It does not delete your Google or Apple account, and it does not affect progress saved on your phone. You can also request deletion without the app.
8. Children
Wheel of Verses is made for all ages, and every game can be played without giving us any personal information. Joining the leaderboard requires a Google or Apple account, which is subject to those companies' rules for children's accounts. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verified parental consent. If you believe a child has created a leaderboard account without permission, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing [email protected]. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR or Singapore's PDPA) you may have further rights, including the right to complain to your data protection authority.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
